The Glorious Mysteries for Freedom from Addiction: The 1st Mystery

1st Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection

A reading from the Gospel according to Luke.
[O]n the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body.

While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel; and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise."

And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. Lk 24:1-9

Through Your resurrection, Jesus, you teach us that life itself transcends the confines of even the tomb.Through Your resurrection, You conquered death. You alone have the power to roll away the stone of addiction that entombs us.

Now, as Your light pours in we feel Your warmth like never before, and can see clearly the path before us. We now want to live, and You are the only source of life. Only now do we begin to understand ourselves--that our desires and addictions will never satisfy us, because our true desire, the desire that burns in the soul, can only be satisfied by You.

Please pray an Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, a Gloria and the Fatima Prayer.
