Mahoning Valley Health wishes to announce its plans for the former abortion mill.

Partial Time Line of Relevant Events

1976: Mahoning Women’s Center opens.

1989: Permanent court injunction forces prayer across the 4 lane highway.

Through 2010: prayer continued to end abortion.

11/27/09: Offer made to buy building on feast day of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

2/12/09: Last donation needed received on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Mid 1/2010: Mahoning Women’s Center announces its closure, no more abortions.

1/21/10: Feast day of St Agnes, equipment is auctioned off by Mahoning Women’s Center.

1/22/10: Equipment picked up on the 37th anniversary of Roe vs Wade.

3/19/10: Papers signed & keys given to MVH on the Solemnity of St Joseph.

Truly God has shown His hand!
In our country we need to hear the pro life message now more than ever. We have been handed a blessing in Youngstown that can bring hope to the rest of the country! After much prayer and a careful review of ideas about the building itself, we have decided that the best option is to demolish the building. We will be putting in its place a beautiful garden, a place of beauty where there was once only darkness. We will be erecting a monument to memorialize all the innocent children killed through abortion. It will be a place of remembrance, prayer, and beauty.

We can’t do this alone. Again, we have faith, but no funds. At the time of the sale, we raised just a little over what was needed to buy the property. That surplus is just about depleted. We are now in desperate need of contributions to quickly demolish the building and begin the work of building a prayer garden.

Prayer is our first and best weapon. We feel strongly that we must never forget the lives lost at this site. Won’t you please help us stand for life once again on Market Street & turn the monument to misery into a monument to life? A place that brings honor to God, His Holy Family, and all those who spent their life praying for an end to abortion at that site. What could be more beautiful than a monument and a beautiful garden in a place where once the blood of innocent children was shed?
